Weed Dynamics in Acid Saline Pokkali Ecosystem of Kerala

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Pokkali is a versatile rice- fish system of cultivation, producing naturally organic rice along the waterlogged coastal regions Kerala. The weed flora fields different from other ecosystems. Diverse appears in low saline phase, when cultivated, but they dry up and decompose high phase. With time, significant deviations have been reported various climatic parameters as result, spectrum has also undergone changes. Methods: Two level stratified surveys anotomical studies were conducted during Kharif 2017 2018 to study five major growing blocks panchayaths (political village units) each block two padasekharams (group farming panchayath selected for surveying. To understand adaptive mechanism weeds soil condition, anatomical performed on individual species. Result: Cyperaceae family dominated ecosystem with more number Diplachne fusca Eleocharis dulcis weeds. Echinochloa crus-galli, dominant earlier survey was found confined very few locations frequency got reduced 80% 12.5%. In addition, Sphenoclea zeylanica observed an emerging notable morphological adaptations. Floating ferns like Najas graminea Hydrilla verticillata caused problems aeration water fields.

the study of bright and surface discrete cavity solitons dynamics in saturable nonlinear media

Ecological Impacts of Weed (Parthenium hysterophorus L.) Invasion in Saline Soil

Parthenium density and species richness were found to be more in non-invaded (N-I) sites as compared to invaded (I) sites of Jaunpur district. pH, OC and %N of the soil indicates that the plant survive naturally at higher level of salinity. In pot experiment, plant growth, proline content, TSS content, chlorophyll, N, P and K was not significantly affected up to 1% NaCl (w/w) over the control a...

Combining a weed traits database with a population dynamics model predicts shifts in weed communities

A functional approach to predicting shifts in weed floras in response to management or environmental change requires the combination of data on weed traits with analytical frameworks that capture the filtering effect of selection pressures on traits. A weed traits database (WTDB) was designed, populated and analysed, initially using data for 19 common European weeds, to begin to consolidate tra...
